In Penang, the organizer of the workshop had put me in a well established hotel in Batu Feringghi. It's the Penang Parkroyal Hotel. I got a room for myself although it is a room with 2 single bed. What can I say, it is such a very nice hotel and most of the guest are foreigner. A great choice of hotel to stay in Penang if you got the budget.
Parkroyal Penang. Old design building but luxurious on the inside.
This would be my room.
The size of the room is quite big and had its own verandah facing the sea.
The verandah ... where I spend my smoking time here as it is prohibited to smoke inside the room (they will charge extra RM if you're caught smoking inside the room)
Javana is their lobby lounge
On 14th Feb, the hotel had done a great decoration at their beach side dining area.
On the 15th, I visited the famous Kek Lok Si Temple at night. People are saying that this is one of the best spot to take night scenery photos here in Penang and I say, yup people are absolutely right. This is such a beautiful place at night with its light decorations. Here are some photos taken that night :-
When I came to Penang, I was using the Penang Bridge, so when going back to the mainland on the 17th, I took the classic way of getting to the mainland, taking the Penang Ferry. If I'm not mistaken, the last time I took the ferry was almost 10 years back.

Compared to my previous visit, I can't see any drastic changes / differences. Penang is still Penang, slow traffic + lots of motorcycle + good food. But surprisingly, I am very impressed on the developments being made along the Gurney Drive up to Batu Feringghi. Sky high condominiums and apartments are blooming like mushroom after the rain. I guess that Penang is doing very well in tourism even as I can see many foreign tourist from europe, taiwan/china/hongkong and arab almost everywhere.
Cheers !
